What is Advent?
Beginning the Church's liturgical year, Advent (from, "ad-venire" in Latin or "to come to") is the season encompassing the four Sundays (and weekdays) leading up to the celebration of Christmas. The Advent season is a time of preparation that directs our hearts and minds to Christ’s second coming at the end of time and to the anniversary of Our Lord’s birth on Christmas.
How can I fully live out the Advent season?
Advent is a busy time of the year! It can also be a meaningful, joyful, and even peaceful time if we live Advent intentionally, as a season of preparing our hearts and homes for Jesus's coming. Here are some Advent essentials to bring you peace this year:

Begin on Sunday, December 1 with the first name of Jesus featured: A Precious Stone (1 Peter 2:6). On Monday, December 2, the school will learn about the next name: The Builder (Hebrews 3:3). Continue down the list, covering one name each day, all the way through to Messiah (John 4:25) on December 24th!
