Hello! I am Misty Hade, principal of St. Luke’s Evangelist Catholic School. I am excited to begin my 5th year here and 17th year in the Diocese of Des Moines. I live in Ankeny, Iowa, with my husband, our two children, Kennedy and Carter, two dogs, and two cats. For the past 13 years, we have been blessed to have my mom live with us. Kennedy will be a sophomore at Iowa State University, where she is pursuing a degree in early childhood education with two endorsements in special education. Carter is a junior at Ankeny Centennial High School and competes as a level 10 gymnast for Chows Gymnastics & Dance. After graduating from Dowling High School, I attended the University of Northern Iowa. I received my bachelor's degree in elementary and early childhood education with a minor in early childhood special education. After teaching for a few years, I attended Iowa State University and received a master's degree in educational leadership. Beginning in January 2021, I began classes through the University of Northern Iowa to add the superintendency certification to my leadership skills.
When I am not at St. Luke’s, you can find me with my family, coaching the competition teams at Dancin’ with Roxie, at Iowa State Football games, or heading to Disney!

Hello! My name is Sara Hazel. I am excited to start my 2nd year here at St. Luke the Evangelist School. I am beginning my 20th year in Catholic education. I taught middle school religion, social studies, language arts, K-8 technology, and K-8 STEM within the Diocese of Des Moines.
I attended catholic school k-12 in Gilbertville, IA. I attended the University of Northern Iowa for my undergraduate degree and Creighton University for my Master's.
I am married and have three children. My husband, Mike, is a teacher in the Diocese. Emma is a Senior at Dowling; Logan, Freshman; and Laney, a 5th grader at St. Francis. I love spending time with my family, cooking, reading, and traveling. I also love to watch the Hawkeyes, Cubs, and Bears!
I’m excited to continue my adventure with the St. Lukes Family!
