2026 - 2027 Living Like the Saints

Our St. Luke’s mission is to PRAY, LEARN, and SERVE. One of the MOST important ways to put the mission into action begins by living out the faith at home within your domestic Church!

All St. Luke school and parish parents are invited to lead the Living Like the Saints program in their home. This program, developed by the school School Council Faith Committee, encourages your family to take small steps toward holiness.

This year, Living Like the Saints invites our St. Luke's community to MAKE HEAVEN CROWDED by looking to the saints as examples of what it means to follow Christ faithfully. Through prayer, learning, service, and simple monthly challenges, families are encouraged to practice the virtues that helped ordinary people become saints.

How Living Like the Saints Works

Each month, our school community will meet saints who show us a different way to grow in holiness. Their lives remind us that sainthood does not look exactly the same for everyone, but every saint ultimately points us toward the same destination: Heaven!

Using the the monthly LLTS calendar, families are invited to grow together through:

• WE PRAY: Pray together as a family and ask the saints to intercede for us.

• WE LEARN: Discover the lives of the saints and the virtues they practiced.

• WE SERVE: Put faith into action through tangible acts of love and service.

• MONTHLY CHALLENGES: Practice the month's virtue in everyday life.

• MAKE HEAVEN CROWDED; Encourage on another towards holiness, remembering that we are not meant to make the journey to Heaven alone.

WHAT DOES IT MEANT TO "MAKE HEAVEN CROWDED"?

The saints remind us that holiness is not something we pursue alone. God places people in our lives to help lead us closer to Him, and He calls us to do the sane for others.

To Make Heaven Crowded means striving for sainthood ourselves while helping the people around us encounter Christ through the way we pray, love, serve, forgive, encourage, and live.

We are called to become saints and bring others with us.

The calendar will also help you track the Liturgical season and many St. Luke events, and includes resources to enable you to dig deeper into your faith!

Ready to Start?

Your Living Like the Saints calendar is your family's guide throughout the year. Each month introduces new saints, a virtue to practice, opportunities to pray, learn and serve, and a monthly family challenge.

Keep your calendar somewhere your family will see it often — on the refrigerator, family command center, or near your prayer space — and use it throughout the month as a simple reminder to keep growing together.

LLTS in St. Luke's School

Living Like the Saints extends beyond the family calendar and into the everyday life of our school. Throughout each month:

• • Morning announcements introduce students to the featured saints, their stories, and the virtues they lived.

• Students pray together daily in closing prayer for the intercession of our featured saints.

• The virtue of the month is reinforced through classroom and Guidance activities.

• Images and stories of our featured saints appear throughout the school as visible reminders of the universal call to holiness.

• Our goal is simple: to help our students recognize that saints aren't just people from long ago — sainthood is what God desires for each of us.
