Living Like the Saints
2024 - 2025 Living Like the Saints
Our St. Luke’s mission is to PRAY, LEARN, and SERVE. One of the MOST important ways to put the mission into action begins by living out the faith at home within your domestic Church!
"A home is a domestic Church in which to experience communion and offer the example of worship of a life lived in faith, hope and charity." - Pope Francis
All St. Luke school and parish parents are invited to lead the Living Like the Saints program in their home. This program, developed by the school Leadership Council Faith Committee, encourages your family to take small steps toward holiness.
Everything you need to know to participate in the LLTS program and challenges is found in the calendar created for the 2024-2025 school year. Each month is guided by a Saint who exemplified a particular virtue, inspiring us to imitate their lives of heroic virtue through the program elements listed below:.
WE PRAY - Prayer to recite together as a family daily.
WE LEARN - Facts about the Saint of the Month’s life, the definition of the corresponding virtue, and examples of how to put it into practice.
WE SERVE - Information on the mission organization the school will support on Mission Day and at the parish Children's Mission Collection (1x/mo) donations.
CHALLENGES - Tangible ways your family can put your faith into action!
The calendar will also help you track the Liturgical season and many St. Luke events, and includes resources to enable you to dig deeper into your faith!
To further guide your family along the way, see the Living Like the Saints display in the Narthex (updated monthly) as well as the weekly updates in the parish and school newsletters. If you would also like to sign up for text reminders, click the “Receive Text Message Reminders & Information” button on this page!
Ready to Start?
For a full overview of how to use the calendar, flip to “THE DETAILS” page in the back of the calendar (following the month of August). There you will find a handy guide for how to utilize the calendar.
Be sure to use the included stickers to track your challenge progress! Once your children have completed their challenges for the month, let us know by clicking on the “LLTS Monthly Challenge Completion Form” button on this page! That way, we can recognize them on our Communion of Future Saints display wall at St. Luke's and enter them in the monthly drawing to win Tiny Saints keychains!
In addition, all children who complete the challenges for all nine months of the school year (Sep '24-May '25), will be awarded a special prize!
LLTS in St. Luke's School
SLTE school reinforces this program through:
Daily morning announcements educate our kids about the Saint of the month, the virtues they lived, and their path to holiness.
Each school day closes with praying the prayer of the month.
The virtue of the month is incorporated into Guidance classes.
Images of the monthly Saint featured on the prayer table in each classroom, as well as on posters in the school hallways.
Monthly celebration of the Saint and gifting of holy cards with that saint.
Recognition of students living the monthly Virtue by adding flowers to Mary’s Garden wall in the school hallway.
We look forward to growing in faith and walking this journey together as a St. Luke's community!
