School Overview 

Founded in August 2015 with just 42 students, St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic School has grown into a thriving, faith-filled community of approximately 395 students. Serving children in kindergarten through 8th grade, St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic School provides a Christ-centered education and is accredited by the Iowa Department of Education. Recognized as the Favorite School in Ankeny/Northern Polk County in 2024, we are proud of the strong partnerships we have built among our students, families, parish, and community.

At St. Luke’s, we foster an environment where all students are respected, encouraged, and challenged to reach their God-given potential. We are committed to nurturing the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth of every child through a rigorous curriculum, meaningful faith formation, and a supportive school culture.

  • Our school offers:

    • A strong core curriculum in religion, science, mathematics, English language arts, and social studies

    • Enrichment opportunities including physical education, art, music, STEM, technology, and band

    • Small class sizes, with a maximum of 22 students in kindergarten and 24 students per classroom in grades 1–8

    • A variety of extracurricular activities and clubs, including volleyball, basketball, chess, Mock Trial, Battle of the Books, and other opportunities that encourage leadership, creativity, and teamwork
